The Manitoba Sustainable Energy Association (ManSEA) and the Manitoba Environmental Industries Association (MEIA) are excited to announce a collaboration to provide a free webinar regarding biomass energy. Unfortunately ManSEA’s flagship annual conference was cancelled due to the pandemic, and with it was many great presentations on renewable energy and energy alternatives. This webinar represents one of the ManSEA conference subjects and MEIA is very pleased to help sponsor and support, providing more awareness on a made-in-Manitoba biomass to energy project.
Presenters:
Claude Plante, Facility Maintenance and Safety Supervisor at Prairie Rose School Division
Nathan Waldner, Mechanical Department Manager and Service Technician at SIM Enterprises, Lowe Farm, Manitoba
The Presenters will describe how they are using biomass energy to replace fossil fuels to heat school division facilities at St. Eustache, Manitoba. Included will be a description of the overall project including partners involved; boiler and boiler technology; biomass feedstock; the challenges in introducing a technology new to the area and the lessons learned. Claude firmly believes that “This is the Right Way to Go” and “What an opportunity for the school students to learn first-hand”.
For anyone considering the use of biomass as a heat source for your community infrastructure this is an excellent opportunity to learn how to do it.
